Coolcom AC/DC/EC cross-flow fans actively circulate hot air, accelerating heat transfer compared with natural convection to balance room temperature, eliminate cold zones and maximize fireplace heating efficiency. AC and DC motor options are available: DC type runs quietly with 0–10V precise speed control; AC type features outstanding cost performance. Compact structure for easy installation, precision dynamically balanced impeller, electrophoresis anti-corrosion and EPDM vibration damping for long service life, stable operation and low maintenance.

Application of Cross-Flow Fans in Electric Fireplaces

Electric fireplaces combine decorative effect and heating function. The internal installation space is narrow and compact, which puts strict requirements on air uniformity, thickness, noise and high-temperature resistance of fans. With slim and elongated structure and proven home appliance grade reliability, Coolcom cross-flow fans are the preferred choice for hot air circulation of electric fireplaces.

1. Working Principle

The cross-flow fan is arranged horizontally under or behind the heating element inside the fireplace. The air outlet of the fan faces the heater.
Coolcom AC/DC/EC cross-flow fans actively circulate hot air. Compared with natural convection, they accelerate heat transfer across the room, balance indoor temperature, eliminate cold spots and maximize the heating efficiency of fireplaces. Ambient air is drawn into the cross-flow fan and forced through the heating core for heat exchange. The heated hot air is discharged through the grille above the fireplace and diffuses into the room to form continuous and soft hot air circulation and prevent local overheating.

✅ Structural advantage: Slim body with customizable length, fits into the narrow cavity of the fireplace without destroying the appearance. ODM customization available.
✅ Air performance: Uniform airflow along the full length with high air volume and excellent acoustic performance, no concentrated hot air and uncomfortable direct blowing.
✅ Robust construction: Precision dynamically balanced impeller; electrophoresis surface treatment for corrosion resistance and deformation resistance; precision ball bearings with EPDM rubber for vibration damping; service life up to 60,000 hours at ambient temperature, capable of continuous operation under elevated temperature with low maintenance.

2. Key Features

  1. Wide planar airflow: The air width matches the simulated flame, bringing natural diffused heating.
  2. AC & DC motor options: DC version for low noise with 0–10V / PWM precise speed regulation; AC version with excellent cost performance; EC version available for high-end intelligent control.
  3. High-temperature forced convection: Optimized for heating appliances, fully removing heat from heater and reducing dry-burning risk for operation near heat source.
  4. Compact & easy installation: Single long fan or multi-section spliced solution for 1.2m / 1.5m / 1.8m and other fireplace sizes.

3. Typical Application Scenarios

  • Built-in electric fireplaces and free-standing electric fireplaces for residential decoration
  • Decorative heating fireplaces in hotels, sales centers and exhibition halls
  • Simulated flame heating equipment for homestays and clubs

4. Selection Notes

  1. Temperature resistance: Coolcom impeller options include high-temperature resistant ABS or aluminum alloy to fit the hot cavity of fireplaces.
  2. Static pressure matching: The internal duct of fireplace is short with low resistance. Low-pressure cross-flow fan fits this condition perfectly.
  3. Noise control: DC or EC cross-flow fan with dynamic balancing is recommended for quiet home scenarios; AC cross-flow fan is an alternative for cost-sensitive projects.
  4. Heat insulation: Thermal isolation structure is recommended to prevent heat back-conduction to the motor and extend service life.

5. Comparison

Item Coolcom Cross-Flow Fan Ordinary Axial Fan
Air pattern Uniform long planar airflow Concentrated point airflow
Installation depth Thin, fit narrow cavity Thick, space-consuming
Noise DC/EC quiet at low speed, AC stable low noise Obvious wind noise
Long fireplace adaption Support long splicing & custom length Multiple units, poor consistency
Heat transfer Active forced convection, even heat distribution Local direct blowing, uneven temperature
Reliability Electrophoresis anti-corrosion, EPDM damping, long-life bearing Basic structure, weaker vibration & lifespan
